We are aiming to attach a vegetable garden to each school in our areas which will be maintained by the children and teachers and provide much needed food to the orphans and children in the schools. We are aware that there a huge number of orphans and vulnerable children who are over 10 years old and so not included in the feeding programmes (see here for more details) so the vegetables grown in the gardens are distributed to these children as priorityContinue reading

Wood is the main source of fuel for keeping warm and cooking. The land has slowly but surely been taken over by farming and trees are also chopped down in the fields. There is very little replanting, therefore it is essential that these stocks of wood are replenished. Our Reforestation Project is promoting self-sufficiency within our support area.Continue reading

Our Mission Statement
- Promote educational facilities for all children in the community
- Enhance the ability of the community to become self-sufficient
- Ensure care of orphans and vulnerable people affected by HIV/AIDS
- Provide fresh water and sanitation
We are supporting around 3,000 orphans in their villages. We support 13 centres in an
area about 15km by 20km north west of the Capital, Lilongwe.
We are dedicated to helping children, whose childhoods have been suddenly taken
away from them, due to illness, poverty and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The amount of
these affected children is incredible. A generation is slowly being eliminated, leaving
the elderly to take care of the young
The Landirani Trust is a registered charity formed to give life and hope, to a small part
of Malawi, the 'Warm heart of Africa'.
